In both programs, the curriculum covers JavaScript, React, SQL, and APIs. However, the former also covers Python and AWS while the latter tackles HTML and CSS. The school’s career advisory team plays a huge part in helping students land well-paying jobs at prestigious companies.

Is devCodeCamp Worth It?

Yes, devCodeCamp is worth it. It offers live online classes that help students prepare for their tech careers. The online bootcamp has built a reputation as a reliable school that accepts students from different backgrounds.

You don’t need any tech experience to enroll, and you can start your career right after you graduate. Instead of spending four years in a university to get a degree, learning software or web development at devCodeCamp takes just a few months.

DevCodeCamp Job Placement

According to a third party auditing firm called AGL Audit, devCodeCamp has an 85.81 percent job placement rate. Most graduates get their first tech jobs within a few weeks or months of completing their online bootcamp.

DevCodeCamp’s career service department provides job assistance to all students in the online bootcamp. Your mentor will help you create a resume and prepare for job interviews. They will also give you tips to make sure your job hunt is effective.

Finally, these experts will assist you in curating professional social profiles to connect you with tech companies looking for fresh talent. Then, it’s up to you to pass your interview and land the job.

Does DevCodeCamp Offer a Job Guarantee?

While devCodeCamp provides you with the tools and knowledge you need to get a high-paying job, it doesn’t refund your tuition if you fail to get hired, as some other bootcamps do.

How Much Does devCodeCamp Cost?

Tuition at devCodeCamp varies based on the program you choose. Full-time students in the software development bootcamp pay $17,800, while part-time web development students pay $15,800. The total tuition cost can also change depending on the payment option you choose.

How to Pay for devCodeCamp: Upfront, Loan Financing, GI Bill

Upfront Payment

This is the best option to pay for devCodeCamp, if you have the funds. Upfront payment will require you to pay the full tuition sum before starting class, which means you’ll be free from any financial obligation after you’ve completed the program.

Loans

Loans are another good option for students who qualify. You will take out a loan to cover your tuition cost, and will pay it back after you start working. DevCodeCamp currently has loan partnerships with Climb Credit and Ascent Funding.

You must be a US resident to be eligible for either of these loan financing options. Foreign students can only apply for Climb Credit if they are co-borrowing with a US resident.

For the first five months after you graduate, you’ll only be required to make payments on interest, and there are no prepayment penalties.

GI Bill

Veterans interested in learning how to code at devCodeCamp can use the GI Bill to cover their tuition. GI Bill funding might be partial or full, depending on the applicant’s qualifications. The GI Bill is not considered federal aid, so even if you use it to cover part of your tuition, you can also still qualify for additional federal funding.

devCodeCamp Locations

DevCodeCamp is an online bootcamp that can be attended from anywhere in the world. However, students who live in Milwaukee can also choose to attend classes in person at the school’s office.

DevCodeCamp Courses

Like other bootcamps, devCodeCamp gives students the knowledge they need to excel in the tech sector long term. Those who already have some background in coding can start with one of the immersive courses straight away, but those who don’t know the first thing about coding will need to take prep courses first.

The two main bootcamps at devCodeCamp are in software development and web development.

DevCodeCamp Prep Course

The code prep course at devCodeCamp is free. It will introduce you to the basics of JavaScript through pre-recorded demo videos and lectures. You will also have to complete assignments. Participating in the free prep course will help you decide if coding is the right career path for you.

Software Development | Immersive Online

The full-time software development program at devCodeCamp used to take place in person at the institution’s Milwaukee campus, but has been transferred online due to Covid-19.

This immersive online bootcamp at devCodeCamp lasts 14 weeks. In it, students will learn software development using programming languages like JavaScript, HTML, CSS, Python, C#, and SQL. You’ll also study GitHub software, Agile methodologies, data visualization, MVC, and .Net.

Web Development | Immersive Online

The web development program at devCodeCamp is part-time and requires 16 weeks of study. It takes place in live, online classes. In this program, students will cover most of the same programming languages as in the software development course.

There are classes on JavaScript, HTML, CSS, MongoDB, Node.js, GitHub, React.js, user experience design, and Agile and Scrum methodologies.

What Is the devCodeCamp Schedule?

Flexibility is a key factor in choosing a bootcamp. With devCodeCamp, you can choose between the full-time, part-time, and self-paced options.

Full-Time

The full-time software development course lasts 12 weeks and is conducted entirely online. Most of the classes at devCodeCamp emphasize project-based learning. Enrollment is currently open for full-time programs starting on March 1, March 29, April 26, and May 24.

Part-Time

The part-time web development program at devCodeCamp takes 14 weeks to complete. Enrollment is ongoing for classes starting on March 8, May 3, and June 14.

Self-Paced

The coding camp’s self-paced option allows you to study completely on your own time. It is the preferred option for those who work full-time but also want to pick up tech skills. With this study option, you can choose which classes you want to attend and which you want to skip.

How to Get Accepted into devCodeCamp

Applying to devCodeCamp is straightforward. All you have to do is visit the bootcamp’s official website and submit your application. It doesn’t matter if you are a beginner or already have some coding experience. There is a place for all learning levels at devCodeCamp.

DevCodeCamp Acceptance Rate

There isn’t a lot of information about the acceptance rate at devCodeCamp, but the school has reported a graduation rate of 81.58 percent. This provides some insight into their acceptance rate. It shows that they accept many qualified applications and that the vetting process is not rigid.

Application Process

Even if the bootcamp has a high acceptance rate, the admissions board will still have to decide whether you’re a good fit for the program. To apply, follow the steps below.

  1. Visit devCodeCamp’s official website and click on “Apply” in the top right drop-down menu.
  2. Fill in the form that appears.
  3. Submit the form and wait for the school to contact you to schedule an interview.
  4. Complete your interview and wait for your acceptance email.
  5. Select your financing options and start preparing for class.

Interview Questions

You do not need to worry about the coding bootcamp interview at devCodeCamp. Your interviewer will only ask you basic questions regarding your interests in coding and why you chose to apply to the school. Some of the most common interview questions are listed below.

  • Why are you interested in learning how to code?
  • What aspects of software engineering interest you the most?
  • Why did you choose devCodeCamp over other bootcamps?
  • Are you committed to completing the program?

Is devCodeCamp Right for You?

The answer is up to you. If you’re interested in an immersive online program that takes just three months, devCodeCamp might just be a perfect fit. Since the bootcamp’s programs are fast-paced, you’ll learn skills in three months that might take six months in other less rigorous courses.

Since most of devCodeCamp’s classes are project-based, students can expect to gain a lot of practical experience while they study. By the time graduates get their first job, they will be well-versed in software development. Better yet, graduates of devCodeCamp can expect to earn an average of $52,000 right after graduation.
